Please join the IBEW to urge the Senate to oppose the GOP tax bill. 

Unfortunately, the GOP tax bill passed the House of Representatives on May 22, 2025, by one vote. All of the chamber’s Democrats and two Republicans voted against it. But the fight is not over, and your assistance is still critical to press members of the Senate to restore the Inflation Reduction Act tax credits that were stripped from the House bill. The Senate can still rearrange and rewrite this entire bill. 

The GOP’s tax bill threatens to halt renewable energy development, killing thousands of good-paying jobs, including many held by IBEW members, by cutting tax credits in the Inflation Reduction Act. Thanks to the IRA, clean energy sources like wind, solar, nuclear, and geothermal have created jobs nationwide. This bill threatens hundreds of billions in projects and thousands of jobs across nearly every state. Preserving labor standards means nothing if the jobs disappear. 

Americans want jobs and affordable energy, not billionaire tax breaks. 

It’s critical for the Senate to reject any efforts to gut the IRA and refocus on investing in American workers and energy. Please join the IBEW in supporting good-paying energy jobs for IBEW members by using the toolkit below to raise awareness:

• Letter Campaign: Visit bit.ly/GOPTaxBillLetter to send a letter to your senators. Enter your mailing address, click “Start Writing,” and a sample letter will populate, encouraging your Senators to vote against the GOP tax bill. 
• Social Media Post with Graphics: Share this post with one of the following graphics on your social media channels to inform fellow IBEW members about this proposed legislation:
