The IBEW Government Affairs Department is committed to advancing the IBEW’s mission and improving the lives of all members through supporting education, advocacy, mobilization, public policy, and legal and administrative action. The  political education and legislative activism of IBEW is developed and administered by the Government Affairs Department at the IBEW International Office.

This Government Affairs Department oversees one of the most powerful political action programs for working people. This includes:

  • Deploying legislative and administrative strategy

  • Developing educational materials on current issues and candidates

  • Sharing timely online resources for registrars

  • Leading political workshops at IBEW conferences and progress meetings

The department also delivers training for local union leadership, registrars, and state and district coordinators that provides attendees with the tools and knowledge to sharpen or expand their local political programs.

Federal Worker Action Toolkit

Please join the IBEW to oppose the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) hasty and negligent workforce policies by taking action to prevent further privatization of government operations by unelected billionaires and their corporate interests. National security should never be compromised by corporate interests.
