The IBEW is calling on all Texas members to mobilize now to stop corrupt redistricting and reject gerrymandered maps. Demand fair maps that protect union voices and working families. 

President Trump asked Governor Abbott to call a special session to redraw congressional maps. Not to help flood victims, but to rig the 2026 elections for other anti-union politicians like them. Trump and Abbott have even admitted they’re targeting Texas to flip enough U.S. House seats to fast-track his anti-worker, anti-union policies nationwide.  

His rigged congressional map will:

• Protect anti-union politicians who attack collective bargaining, PLAs, and prevailing wages  
• Erase workers’ voices, especially in union-dense communities  
• Open the door for more anti-worker laws, like the Big Ugly Bill  
• Threaten union jobs and rights, not just in Texas, but nationwide  

The IBEW thanks Texas House Democrats for stopping this power grab by missing the special vote.  

Now it’s IBEW’s turn to put Texans first. Reject all anti-worker redistricting schemes and demand fair maps that protect union voices with the toolkit below:
